How many rooms is Mt Isthmus?
There are four suites, each, the epitome of luxury with super king-size beds; an ensuite, the latest in interior furnishings and views that make waking up an unforgettable experience.
Are you able to access Mt Isthmus by vehicle?
Yes, you can access Mt Isthmus by vehicle.
Approximately 30 minutes drive from Lake Wanaka through Albert Town, then on to follow Lake Hawea.
Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes drive from Queenstown through Arrowtown, over the Crown Range, through Wanaka, then on to follow Lake Hawea. (Approximatley 2 hours if driving through Gibbston Valley)
Do you provide transfers?
Transfers are not included in our nightly rate, however we offer both vehicle and helicopter private transfers at an additional cost from Queenstown and Wanaka. We can arrange transfers from other locations if necessary.

Are children welcome at Mt Isthmus?
Yes, children are welcome at Mt Isthmus. Mt Isthmus is a sole use villa, perfect for families.
Are pets allowed at Mt Isthmus?
We do not allow any pets at Mt Isthmus. This is to protect the natural plant and wildlife.
What meals are included in the nightly rate?

What is the weather like in Lake Hawea?
Summer
Dates: 1 December –28 February
Temperatures: 20 to 30 degrees Celsius
Summer is an amazing time to do all great outdoor activities, from the mountains to the lake. Long daylight hours means the days usually don’t end until well after 9:00 pm, giving you plenty of time to explore.
The Summer season runs from the beginning of December to the end of February, with an average temperature of 24°C.
Autumn
Dates: 1 March – 30May
Temperatures: 5 to 20 degrees Celsius
Autumn is absolutely beautiful. Crisp air, incredible colours and the perfect temperature for some big adventures.
The Autumn season runs from the end of March to the end of May, with an average temperature of 15°C.
Winter
Dates: 1 June – 31August
Temperatures: 0 (or colder) to 12 degrees Celsius
Winter is truly one of the most incredible times of the year. With four ski fields, epic on-snow experiences and true mountain town culture.
The winter season runs from the beginning of June to the end of August, with an average temperature of 10°C.
Spring
Dates: 1 September –30 November
Temperatures: 8 – 22 degrees Celsius
Spring is one of the most unique seasons. It is the only season where you can both ski, bike and play on the lake – all in one day.
The days are starting to get longer and many walks, hikes and bike tracks are accessible again. The lake also begins to warm up and those brave enough, take to the waters for activities.
The Spring season runs from the beginning of September to the end of November, with an average temperature of 17°C.
