How do you access Paroa Bay Winery?
You can drive, boat or access Paroa Bay Winery by Helicopter (with pre-arrangement).
If driving, travel time from Russell is approximately 15minutes.
If accessing by boat, you can anchor in Paroa Bay and one of our friendly staff will pick you up from the beach and take you to Sage Restaurant or our luxury accommodation.
If flying in by Helicopter, please make pre-arrangement with our staff.
Do you have a boat mooring?
For guests staying at Paroa Bay Winery and arriving by boat, we have mooring that can hold up to a 12m boat and is on a 4-ton concrete block.
Do you provide transfers?
Transfers are not included in our nightly rate, however we offer both vehicle and helicopter private transfers at an additional cost from Paihia, Kerikeri or Russell. We can arrange transfers from other locations if necessary.

Are children welcome at Sage Restaurant and the onsite accommodation?
Paroa Bay Winery is family friendly, and children of any age are welcome. We can provide a high chair at Sage Restaurant and can set up sleeping arrangements for children who require a cot if staying in our luxury accommodation.
Are pets allowed at Paroa Bay Winery?
We do allow dogs at Sage Restaurant, if you are happy to be seated with the view and enjoy the outdoors.
Unfortunately, we do not allow any pets at our luxury accommodation. This is to protect the natural plant and wildlife, as well as considering the comfort of other guests.
Is Sage Restaurant open to the public?
Yes, Sage Restaurant is open for everyone to enjoy.
Our standard hours are:
Wednesday to Saturday: 12pm - 9pm
Sunday: 11.30am - 5.30pm
Monday & Tuesday: Closed

Are meals included in the nightly rate for accommodation?
· The nightly rates for Tarāpunga includes breakfast provisions for a self-service breakfast, replenished daily. Lunch and dinner are not included in standard rates.
· The nightly rates for Vineyard Cottage includes breakfast provisions for a self-service breakfast, replenished.
What is the weather like in the Bay of Islands?
As part of the ‘Winterless North’, the Bay of Islands enjoys a semi-tropical climate in the summer and a slightly cooler climate in winter. From November to March, the average temperature is around 24 degrees, dropping to an average of around 16 degrees between May and September.
